Neither December 25 nor January 7, but June 17 is Jesus Christ’s real birthday, says an Australian astronomer who used a computer software and St. Matthew’s Gospel as a reference point to calculate the new date. The astronomer’s research coincides with Quranic verses on the Messiah, which suggest that Mary gave birth to Jesus during the summer season.
Christians may be celebrating a different date from the actual one Jesus was born on according to Dave Reneke, news editor of Sky and Space magazine, who recreated the night sky around the time of Christ’s birth using a complex charting software that allowed astronomers to map the night sky as it would have appeared more than 2000 years ago. It must be pointed out that the basic purpose of the Quran is to show humanity the proper way to attain guidance and to call people towards it.
The scientific miracles of the Quran in context:
It must be pointed out that the basic purpose of the Quran is to show humanity the proper way to attain guidance and to call people towards it.
Allah says:
Verily, this Quran guides to that which is most just and right and gives glad tidings to the believers who work deeds of righteousness that they shall have a great reward.
Thus, all the things that the Quran mentions about the signs of Allahs power in the human body and in the universe, it is only for the fulfillment of this greater goal. Allah says:
We will show them Our signs in the universe and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the truth. Is it not sufficient with your Lord that He is a Witness over all things?
The value of these indications of the physical world becomes clear in our present, scientific age, because these indications are proof that the Qurn is Allahs speech and not the speech of a human being. For how could Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) have known these things with such detail and accuracy when the means for knowing them did not even exist, and moreover, he was an illiterate denizen of the desert?
The agreement between scientific facts and what the Quran says about the physical world shows that the Quran came from the Creator. It is impossible for any established scientific fact to be at variance with the Quran, in the same way that the words and deeds of a rational person should not contradict. The Quran is the speech of Allah and the universe is His Creation, thus both of them have the same origin and are for the same purpose. Read the rest of this entry »

Forgive Me
Today, upon a bus,
I saw a girl with golden hair.
And wished I was as fair.
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch.
But as she passed, she smiled.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two legs the world is mine.
With feet to take me where I `d go.
With eyes to see the sunset’s glow.
With ears to hear what I’d know.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have been blessed indeed, the world is mine.
I stopped to buy some candy.
The lad who sold it had such charm.
I talked with him, he seemed so glad.
If I were late, it `d do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me,
“I thank you, you’ve been so kind.
You see,” he said, “I `m blind”
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two eyes the world is mine.
With feet to take me where I `d go.
With eyes to see the sunset’s glow.
With ears to hear what I’d know.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have been blessed indeed, the world is mine.
I saw a child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play.
He did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment and then I said,
“Why don’t you join the others, dear?”
He looked ahead without a word.
And then I knew. He couldn’t hear.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two ears the world is mine.
With feet to take me where I `d go.
With eyes to see the sunset’s glow.
With ears to hear what I’d know.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have been blessed indeed, the world is min
